Aquathon 2017

April 24 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The Aquathon is a great opportunity for our swimmers to show off the amazing skills they have obtained in the past nine weeks while also helping to raise critical funds to support Disability Resources! Laps, cannonballs, jumps or any free style trick swimmers have been perfecting – show us what you’ve got!

How to help? It’s easy! Ask friends and family members to sponsor you and/or your swimmer by donating a one-time gift, or a dollar amount for each skill completed. In the past, the annual Aquathon helped purchase a new adaptive bike, bowling ramps, and other important support of our Disability Resource Programs.

Get ready to make a big splash at the Aquathon!
The event is Monday, April 24th from 6:30 to 8:00 pm at the Linkletter Natatorium, Springfield College, 263 Alden Street

About Disability Resources

Disability Resources provides barrier-free recreational and competitive opportunities for individuals with physical disabilities or visual impairments. Through a variety of activities, from adaptive sports, recreational outings to social gatherings and educational events, Disability Resources seeks to enhance the self-confidence, interactive skills and physical abilities of our program participants.

Membership

Disability Resources is open to people of all skill levels and age groups, as well as friends and family! An annual membership fee of $50 gives members the opportunity to participate in year-round athletic programs and social outings including, wheelchair basketball, soccer, hockey, cycling, golf, swimming, movies, dinner, concerts and more. Equipment is available to borrow for a nominal fee, such as: hand-cycles, sport wheelchairs, bi-ski, mono-skis, and bowling equipment. Members receive reduced rates on activities, special events and equipment loans, as well as a subscription to the monthly newsletter.

Information, Referral, and Library Services

Disability Resources has information on a network of agencies and services throughout the Pioneer Valley. Our staff can answer questions, provide phone numbers and addresses, and offer direction and support on issues relevant to individuals with disabilities and their families. We also have a resource library made up of books and videos on a wide variety of topics.

Community Presentations

Whether addressing school children or business professionals, our presentations are designed to address questions, concerns and ideas about physical disabilities. Adapted play, such as wheelchair soccer, can also be incorporated to increase understanding and fun!
