CHD’s MaryAnne’s Kids celebrated the15th Annual Stepping Out fundraiser.
Saturday, April 8th, 2017 at Twill Hills Country Club in Longmeadow, MA.
This year’s event was another smashing success thanks to YOU!!!
Make sure you check out the photos from the evening by going to our Facebook Page. We also regularly post updates on the amazing things your support makes possible for the foster kids in our care!
The public is invited to take a stroll down the red carpet by joining MaryAnne’s Kids while we play paparazzi during this Oscars themed Gala. This fun-filled night will include dinner, dancing to a live band, a raffle, silent auction, prizes, Jim Williams in a sharp suit, giveaways, awards and much more.
The event benefits the hundreds of children in CHD’s Foster Care program. The MaryAnne’s Kids Fund was established in 2000 in memory of MaryAnne Sadak-Eklof, a foster parent who died in 1999 at the age of 46. The fund was started by MaryAnne’s sister, Eva Santaniello of Longmeadow, who died in 2007, and is now managed by CHD.
MaryAnne’s Kids provides money for children in CHD’s Foster Care program so they can participate in activities not typically funded through the state’s foster care system, such as music lessons, dance, art, sports, and summer camps and more.
“Being able to do the things other children enjoy: being successful, being part of a team, discovering that they are good at things. It really changes how foster kids see themselves.” said Jim Williams, program director.
This year’s event is sponsored by PRIDE Gas Stations & Stores, its employees, customers and President, Bob Bolduc. Pride has been a loyal supporter to MaryAnne’s Kids Fund for many years. Every holiday season Pride sells MaryAnne’s Kids Christmas ornaments, which raised more than $25,000 in 2014 alone.
“Pride does so much for MaryAnne’s Kids, helping foster children have opportunities that would not otherwise be available to them.” said Jim Williams, “We are grateful to have such a great partner in the community.”
