BBBS Hosts Livestream of Virtual Daffodil Run

CHD’s Big Brothers Big Sister (BBBS) of Hampshire County hosted a livestream of event photos and videos, interviews and other content during their Virtual Daffodil Run 5k/10k on Sunday, April 26.

Now in its 10th year, the Daffodil Run was scheduled to take place in Amherst, MA, live on the 26th, but BBBS transitioned to a virtual format in early March to ensure they do their part to minimize the spread of COVID-19.

Instead, for this year’s virtual event runners and walkers had the opportunity to plan their own route and complete it in the days leading up to the 26th. Participants then documented their experience with photos and videos that were shared on BBBS’ Facebook event page during a livestream hosted by development and marketing manager for BBBS Katie Lipsmeyer and James Cocco of Empowered Social Media and 50/50 Fitness/Nutrition. The stream also included interviews led by program director Jessie Cooley.

“We have been completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from our local community, our loyal sponsors, and people and organizations from around the country,” Lipsmeyer said.

This year’s event included 563 total participants from 23 states, and even a participant from Norway. You can check out the full livestream below:
