CHD recognizes that people are individuals, with different needs; CHD operates several specialized programs within its Homelessness Services program. These programs are designed to help families facing specific obstacles, or unique situations learn to live successfully.
The family recovery program at Grace House, located in Northampton, is a residential treatment program for mothers, with their children, who are in early recovery from substance abuse. Grace House is a licensed recovery program, funded by DPH; providing intensive intervention, clinical support, life skills development, child care and case management services. Jessie’s House is the only shelter for families in Hampshire County. It focuses specifically on employment services, helping residents obtain needed job skills and re-enter the workforce. Learn More
Orange Street Shelter / Nurturing Father’s Program
With an increase in the number of single fathers entering the shelter system with their children, CHD, with support from DHCD, opened the first fathers shelter program in the state. The Orange Street Shelter is the only program for single fathers with children.
This year, our Holyoke programs will benefit from a partnership with the Latino Nurses Association. The Association works with families to promote health and wellness.
