Mentors open doors for young people!
Become a “Big”
Mentoring a child through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County is a fun and meaningful volunteer experience in your community. All it requires is spending a few hours a week with a young person, doing things you both enjoy. What better way to have a positive impact in your community than by PLAYING! Our ‘Bigs’ and ‘Littles’ enjoy activities together like playing catch, making crafts, hiking, playing board games, fishing, cooking, going to movies, bike riding, and more! In addition, we offer free opportunities to attend cultural and athletic events throughout Western MA. Throughout your match, you’ll have the support of a dedicated BBBS case manager; someone who can offer you guidance, advice and fun activity ideas.
There are nearly 200 children in Hampshire County currently waiting to be matched with someone like YOU!
What’s the application process?
Attend a Big Brothers Big Sisters information session (locations in either Northampton or Amherst) to learn about the program and see if it’s a good fit for you. Volunteers must be 18 or older, have access to a reliable vehicle, and commit to one year in the program. Contact our office at (413) 259-3345 or firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more!
Help out at our next Fundraising Event
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire County relies on the generosity of our community to continue the work we do. If it’s not the right time to become a mentor, we have several major fundraising events throughout the year where we could use your help!
- Daffodil Run – April
- Amherst Crafts on the Common – June
- Happy Valley Half Marathon & 5K – October
- Northampton Winter Craft Fair – December
If you’d like to volunteer at one of our events, or with BBBS in another capacity, please contact Jen Loebel at email@example.com.
