The WWLP-22 TV show Mass Appeal visited a Springfield Thunderbirds sled hockey team practice, took footage of participants playing, and interviewed several players, parents, and coaches. The team is part of CHD’s All In Barrier-Free Recreation program, which gives people of all ages and abilities the chance pursue their passions.
“It’s really enjoyable to see the first moments when a kid is saying, ‘I can actually do this,’” said All In Outreach Coordinator Ryan Kincade. “The sense of accomplishment is huge. It’s so enjoyable to see the transformation on their faces. You can see them light up. It’s beautiful.”
