We offer educational internship opportunities to help you launch a meaningful career in behavioral health and social services. If you are interested in an internship opportunity with CHD, please fill out the form below.

Internship opportunities include psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner preceptorships, undergraduate nursing preceptorships and students in Master and PhD programs focused on behavioral health, integrated behavioral health, and social work. Apply early – these opportunities fill up fast!

Nurse Practitioner and Undergraduate Preceptorships

We offer preceptorships for nursing students in Associate, Bachelor, Master and Doctoral programs. Opportunities include training and exposure to various clinical methodologies and approaches related to mental health and behavioral health care, as well as capstone and dissertation projects. Opportunities are available in outpatient clinics as well as other clinical and social welfare programs throughout CHD’s continuum of services.

Nurse Practitioner students are placed with a primary preceptor and have opportunities to experience outpatient psychiatry (pediatric and adults), medication assisted treatment for substance use disorders, as well as groups and individual therapy.

Opportunities for undergraduate nurses include placement in community-based mental health clinics, or community-based programs serving a variety of adults and children.

Clinician Internship

These opportunities are open to students entering the final year of their Master’s Program.

Obtain a balanced experience in Clinical Services by working with several services, methodologies, and persons with various backgrounds. Opportunities are available in outpatient behavioral health clinics as well as other clinical programs throughout CHD’s continuum of services such as In-Home Therapy and CBHC/Crisis Services. All students are assigned a dedicated licensed supervisor that fits their program’s needs. Internship opportunities are paid.
