Advocacy
Everyone at CHD — program participants, employees, and partner agencies — helps support a culture of universal rights. We treat everyone we serve with dignity and respect.
Protecting the Dignity of All People
Because we serve people of all ages and backgrounds, we work hard to put the right protections in place across all programs and locations.
The needs and vulnerabilities of children are different from those of seniors. We appreciate these differences and tailor safeguards to meet their unique needs.
Here are a few of the ways we advocate for those we serve:
- Human Rights Advocates are staff members responsible for protecting the rights of people taking part in their programs.
- Human Rights Committee volunteers are local professionals who use their expertise to help protect the people we serve.
- Court-Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) are community volunteers trained to represent abused and neglected children in court.
