In the past month, our agency’s recruiters have also visited career fairs at Smith College and Westfield State University, as well as MassHire events in Pittsfield and at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield. (Pictured at bottom is recruiter Shelby Mears at the Hall of Fame.) We also hosted hiring events for Adult Mental Health-Springfield, our Congregate Care Network, and our Juvenile Justice program.

Vega said at the Springfield College event they spoke with many MSW students interested in positions after they graduate. “We also spoke with many undergrads who and very eager to be placed with us for their internships,” she said. “Many new grads are excited to join the field and want to find new and creative ways to work with underserved populations.”

At the Westfield State University career fair, Vega and fellow Recruitment and Onboarding Coordinator Zainab Annasiri met students from not only Westfield State, but also American International College. “At this particular job fair were able to speak to several criminal justice/psychology students,” said Vega.

Upcoming recruitment events include career fairs at Western New England University on October 26 (noon-2:00 p.m.) and at Elms College’s Berchmans Gymnasium on November 7 (11:30 a.m.-2:00 p.m.). On October 27, CHD will also host a Direct Care hiring event at the CHD Training Center, 1985 Main Street, Springfield (11:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.). Spread the word!
