CHD’s Prospect Center in East Longmeadow, which will open soon to provide mental health counseling for area children, young adults, and families, received official citations on September 9 from both the Massachusetts House and Senate. The accolades congratulated Prospect Center for offering much-needed support for area residents.
Presenting the citations to CHD President and CEO Jim Goodwin were State Representative Brian Ashe (D-2nd Hampden District) and Jennifer Pickering, district director for State Senator Jacob Oliviera (D-Hamdpen, Hampshire, and Worcester).
At a time of growing strains on the mental health and wellness of so many young people, Prospect Center, conveniently located near the center of East Longmeadow, will provide counseling in individual and group settings, peer support, medication, and early-intervention for individuals and families in the East Longmeadow, Longmeadow, Wilbraham, and Hampden area.

Prospect Center is currently working closely with the school systems, along with first responders in both East Longmeadow and Longmeadow, to team up in creative ways and really understand how to best reach individuals needing support. It is partnering with school-based services, pediatricians, and other specialists to provide seamless care for a wide range of conditions, including anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, substance use, gender counseling, and more.
