Chris Springer (pictured on the right), volunteer coordinator at CHD’s Hospitality Center in Waterbury, CT, has been working with Western CT Coalition (WCTC) to get a naloxone (Narcan) cabinet installed at the Center, and now it’s here!

The cabinet behind Springer, which holds 75 Narcan boxes for community use, is very user-friendly, with no code and easy access. There is a module on the cabinet that shows a person how to use the Narcan nasal spray to revive an individual experiencing an overdose. The cabinet is not just for Hospitality Center participants, but for anyone during an emergency.

The WCTC helps coordinate the placement of free, publicly accessible Narcan cabinets across western/northwestern Connecticut through funding from the state’s Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services.
