National Recovery Month is observed each September and serves as an important opportunity to educate the community on substance use treatment and mental health services and also celebrate gains made by those living in recovery.
Led by the U.S. Dept. of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), some of the goals of National Recovery Month are “to promote and support new evidence-based treatment and recovery practices, the emergence of a strong and proud recovery community, and the dedication of service providers and community members across the nation who make recovery in all its forms possible.”
