What it’s like to work at CHD
Our employees say it best: here’s what these CHD staffers say about their work and what it’s like to be part of our team.
“There is one main reason why I love working at CHD. It can be rolled up into one word: support. When CHD merged with Hawthorn, it allowed our adult day health programs to continue to assist the aging community to stay in their homes. That support does not stop at the program level, it continues on a personal level as well. I will always be grateful that I get to continue to work at an agency that believes in the same things that I do – making services available to people in need.”
— Audrey Monroe, Director of Hawthorn Elder Care Services
A culture of health and wellness
CHD strongly believes in the integration of mind-body health. All of our services address the well-being of the whole person – and that extends to our employees. We have adopted a culture that encourages and rewards fitness and healthy lifestyle choices. Our programs have included:
- “Good Health” Lunch and Learns
- Chronic Condition Support Groups
- Nutrition and Fitness Incentive Programs
- Free Biometric Screenings
- Wellness Fairs
The orientation process
We believe that a great start is the key to any successful endeavor. So when you come “on board” as a CHD employee, you’ll receive a comprehensive orientation that includes education about our organization and introductions to your new teammates. We want you to succeed!
Staff satisfaction is important
Recruiting great employees – and keeping them — is important to CHD. Every three years, we conduct a staff satisfaction survey, using a confidential survey, to learn more about how we can keep our employees happy, motivated and professionally fulfilled. Your opinion matters at CHD!
