• 10th Annual Daffodil Run Goes Virtual

    April 26, 2020

    Register Now

    Dear Valued Friends and Supporters,
We at Big Brothers Big Sisters realize that it is vital to do our part to reduce the spread of COVID-19, and so we will not hold the Daffodil Run in person on April 26, 2020.

INSTEAD we have decided to take the Daffodil Run to the internet on the same day! Here’s how it works—you register to run or walk virtually, you plan your course (we’ll help you!), and you run or walk your 5K/10K wherever you are. Document your participation by sending us a photo or video of your run or walk by noon on Sunday, April 26th. From 11am-1pm that day, we will connect with a celebratory live stream, when we’ll cheer you on for finishing your race and award amazing raffle prizes! More details to follow, but for now, just head over to to sign up!

As extra incentive, we’re pushing the deadline for the free event t-shirt to April 1st, so you’ll be able to show off your involvement in this unique event with pride.

Our mission of creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships to ignite the power and promise of youth does not decrease because of a pandemic. In fact, the stresses that our children are facing in the midst of this national emergency only increase the need for connection with a mentor. The Daffodil Run for Big Brothers Big Sisters is our biggest fundraiser of the year, and we count on the revenue from this event to continue our service to our kids, their families, and their mentors. We are asking for your help in making this event as successful as ever!

Please reach out directly to race director Katie Lipsmeyer at if you have any questions. Take good care of yourselves and others, and take comfort in knowing that we are all in this together!

    All our best,
The Team at Big Brothers Big Sisters

    Frequently Asked Questions

What does Big Brothers Big Sisters do?

Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. For a few hours, 2-4 times a month, Bigs and Littles spend time doing various activities together, from going to a museum to taking a hike. By simply offering the invaluable gift of friendship, Bigs and Littles literally change each others’ lives for the better.

What does ‘open gender’ mean, and why is it its own category?

Organizers of the Daffodil Run acknowledge that there are more than two genders, so we’ve created an ‘open gender’ category for individuals to select if either the ‘male’ or ‘female’ categories do not suit you. Please contact CHD’s BBBS Director, Jessie Cooley, with any questions at or (413) 259-3345.

Do I have to run to participate?

No, many of our participants walk the 5K course instead of run.

How do I report my 5K/10K results?

    More details coming soon.

How do I log into the livestream broadcast?

    More details coming soon.

How do I get my event t-shirt?

For those who registered by April 1st, we will have a post-event pickup. Location TBD. We can also mail t-shirts to those who are not able to pick them up. For those who registered after April 1st, you can purchase them for $15 each.
