Our mission of creating and supporting one-to-one mentoring relationships to ignite the power and promise of youth does not decrease because of a pandemic. In fact, the stresses that our children are facing in the midst of this national emergency have only increased the need for connection with a mentor. The Daffodil Run for Big Brothers Big Sisters is the program’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and we count on the revenue from this event to continue our service to our kids, their families, and their mentors. We are asking for your help in making this event as successful as ever!
Frequently Asked QuestionsPlease note that this year's event will once again take place virtually, and some of the questions below may not be applicable in 2021.
Free local parking is available on the street and in lots near the Amherst Common. Participants may also park at Amherst-Pelham Regional High School located at 21 Mattoon St., and shuttles will be provided to the Common.
Speed & Sprocket Cycle Works will host a bike valet so you can lock up your bike safely for the duration of the event.
Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. For a few hours, 2-4 times a month, Bigs and Littles spend time doing various activities together, from going to a museum to taking a hike. By simply offering the invaluable gift of friendship, Bigs and Littles literally change each others’ lives for the better.
Organizers of the Daffodil Run acknowledge that there are more than two genders, so we’ve created an ‘open gender’ category for individuals to select if either the ‘male’ or ‘female’ categories do not suit you. Please contact CHD’s BBBS Director, Jessie Cooley, with any questions at [email protected] or (413) 259-3345.
