Volunteer for Foster Care

Foster parents provide a critical safety net for children who've been abused, neglected, or abandoned by their families.

Open Your Home

In Western Massachusetts, there are more kids waiting for homes than there are homes available. That’s where you can make a difference.

CHD Foster Care

We currently maintain 80 foster homes throughout the region. Every day, we receive referrals for children transitioning out of group housing, being discharged from a hospital, or entering the foster care system.

As needs vary from child to child, you’ll have the opportunity to assist with:

  • Short- and long-term overnight care
  • Emergency placement
  • Intensive Foster Care
  • TLC Medical Residence Program

However you choose to help, you’ll be fully supported by experienced caseworkers and clinicians.

You’ll learn about a range of topics, including discipline, bullying, eating disorders, and suicide prevention. You’ll have the tools to help children cope with issues of trauma and abandonment. We can also provide counseling to help with issues such as depression and anxiety.

While foster care inevitably comes with challenges, foster kids are really no different than their peers. They want to make friends, have fun, and just be kids. Together, you can attend holiday parties, monthly activities, and field trips that make lasting memories.

Becoming a foster parent means giving a child a second chance. The care you provide fosters the skills and confidence needed to live a full and productive life.

Thanks to volunteers like you, every child in our foster care program receives the love and attention they deserve.

Foster Care Programs

Kids of all ages are waiting for long- and short-term placements with loving families.

Donate to Maryanne's Kids

Your support of MaryAnne’s Kids allows opportunities for children in foster care that would otherwise be unavailable to them. By providing these children the means to pursue special interests in music, dance, art, sports, summer camps and extra-curricular education, we hope to offer a positive influence that will remain with them throughout their lives.

Filling the gap with love

Founder and CEO of Pride Stores Bob Bolduc and his wife Roberta support the community in a variety of ways, their main focus being children, families, education, and people in serious need.

Over the past 20 years, the Bolducs have been major supporters of CHD programs, especially MaryAnne’s Kids.
