Baystate Health is transitioning all services at the Griswold Center and Baystate Behavioral Health-Palmer to CHD, a change expected to be effective on August 1, 2026. CHD is honored to be continuing the legacy of outstanding behavioral health services at Griswold and on the Baystate Wing campus, and looks forward to further expanding its longstanding presence in the Quaboag region.

We’re here to answer all your questions about the change: Please call 1-844-CHD-HELP (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday to Friday) with any questions you may have. Other basics:

Current services aren’t going anywhere. The CHD Griswold Center will remain in the same place (42 Wright St., Palmer, on the Baystate Wing Campus), and we plan for the current set of services to continue unchanged—in most cases, we expect, with the same provider. Speaking of which…

We’re welcoming all current Griswold providers to join our new care team. Our goal is to transition all the current providers at Griswold to the new CHD Griswold team. And if you want to or need to transition to a new provider, we will do our best to accommodate your preferences in doing so.  For more information about opportunities at the new CHD Griswold Center and elsewhere at CHD, please visit chd.org/careers.

Yes! We do accept your insurance. All insurances now accepted at Griswold will work for us, too. And we’ll do everything we can to ensure a smooth transition with your insurance and any billing.

Your appointment schedule shouldn’t change.  We are working now to make sure we can keep all scheduled appointments in the coming months as they are. As the May 1 transition date gets closer, we will contact patients to update appointment schedules and any other info you might need at the new CHD Griswold Center.

Your medical records will follow you here, and they’re secure. You should have received communication from Baystate Health about your medical records, including an authorization to transfer them securely into the CHD system of care. As long as you complete and return that authorization, your records will follow you here.
